New Hope Employee Receives Distinguished Award

Dolly Williams, LPC and Director of Recreation Therapy at New Hope Carolinas, was recently awarded the 2016 Alumni Achiever Award from Winston-Salem State University. Ms Williams received her Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Winston-Salem State and her Master’s degree in Counseling from Webster University. Ms Williams is licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in NC, is certified as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). Ms Williams was hired by New Hope Carolinas in 2000 as the Director of Recreation Therapy and oversees a department of recreation therapists serving 150 youth. Her team recently added animal assistive activities to the vast repertoire of recreational opportunities offered at New Hope. In addition to her leadership and clinical skills in Recreation Therapy, Dolly is a certified CPI trainer in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and has presented both locally and nationally on a variety of topics. The recent award presented to her by Winston-Salem State University is a tribute to her many accomplishments and we are very proud to have her leadership and skills on our management team.
