Key Components of Treatment

Staffing
Many of the residents referred to New Hope have a history of behaving in inappropriate and dangerous ways while in the community or in previous residential placements. New Hope pays particular attention to the daily supervision of residents to minimize the possibility of such acting out. The program's best security feature is a group of highly trained, competent, very observant, professional staff who oversee a structured daily activity schedule.

New Hope Carolinas employs a 1:3 staff to resident ratio 24 hours a day for all programs, and New Hope Heartland has minimum of 1 direct care staff person on duty for every 4 adolescents on the unit for all shifts. Shift staff ratios reflect direct care only and do not include the therapist case manager, teacher, team supervisors, activity therapist, nurse, and other support staff.
