Dr. Kruesi is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He is also the Training Director of MUSC’s Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Training Program. He has been chosen by his peers as one of the Best Doctors in the United States every year from 2000 to present.

Prior to MUSC, he was the Director of the Institute for Juvenile Research and Head of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Illinois. Prior to that he conducted research at the NIMH Child Psychiatry Branch. He is the author or co-author of over 100 publications, including an Intervention, Emergency Department Means and Restriction Education, listed in SAMHSA’s National Registry of Evidence-based Program Practices.
