Here is what is happening at New Hope…

I have to start this month’s New Hope Happening with a celebration of our February successful graduations. Our PRTF communities had 100% success rate in the month of February with 18 young peoples’ lives changed.

This Wednesday, New Hope is hosting Ricky Johnson as a special guest speaker to talk with our youth, staff and community members. Ricky is a military veteran and in recovery from substance use. He’s experienced and overcome several traumas in his life. Sadly, Ricky’s son also lost his life to suicide. Ricky is real, raw, and has a message that many of our youth need to hear. It’s a message of hope and of reclaiming your life and choosing a new path. Our therapists and team will all be present and be ready to support our youth as Ricky’s message may stir up many emotions in them (which is exactly the point.)

I am happy to inform everyone that New Hope is currently COVID-free after another early year spike to start off 2023. Once again, our medical team managed this wonderfully. We are tracking potential changes as it relates to COVID, COVID funding, federal/state mandates, etc. that may be rolling out this spring. If there are any changes to our COVID policies and practices after that, we will inform you at that time. For now, our COVID mitigation and response strategies all remain the same.

New Hope is making significant investments in our physical plant this year after years of COVID, supply chain issues and the like all having an impact on our facility. We are making major investments in new furniture for our youth, breakroom areas for our team members, and looking for outlets to transform our recreation spaces for kids to give them even more options to expend their energy in fun and positive ways. This will truly be a transformative year at New Hope.

And finally, I am excited to announce our newest leadership hire, Maggie Gray, who has joined New Hope as our Residential Program Director of our brand-new operation in North Carolina. Maggie will be overseeing a 6-bed transitional program for adolescent females. This will be New Hope’s first official operation located in North Carolina and we could not be more thrilled. The program is expected to begin serving youth later this Summer. Thanks as always for your commitment and support to our youth, and our mission!
