West Virginia

West Virginia has more kids placed into out-of-state residential treatment facilities than any state in the country. One of the key factors in predicting success in residential treatment is the level of involvement from their family/community of origin, so it’s paramount that youth receive residential treatment as close to home as possible. New Hope is partnering with Aetna, the Department of Human Services, the Court, and other stakeholders to keep West Virginia's youth home.
With four new residential programs consisting of six beds, New Hope will serve youth who are currently being sent out of state. This will include general psych and specialty populations. The desired length of stay will be three to four months, and programming will be provided to address the needs of our most vulnerable youth.
Although we will have a smaller milieu than most others, this will allow for more quality time with each of the kids to address and meet their individual needs
