Community Engagement
We are proud to share some pictures and stories about our Community Engagement Event “Grill & Chill” that took place earlier in the month on June 9th.
Developing relationships with our local community leaders is an important aspect of any youth serving organization and this is no different for New Hope Carolinas. The kids we serve typically have had only one type of experience with their local Police and Fire Departments, it was likely not one where fun was had and positive relationships were developed. Our first annual “Grill & Chill” event was developed to change that paradigm.
Lead by our Recreation Therapy Department, we invited our local Police & Fire Departments, mental health leaders, town administrators and other stakeholders to join us for a day of games, raffles, music, food and fellowship. The event was an overwhelming success with all of our goals checked:
- Meaningful Positive Relationships Made
- Fun Had
- Belly’s Full
We look forward to our next event with our local heroes.
